  27.  IV. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
  28.  
  29.      1. Copy the above files to the WordStar directory that contains your
  30.         printer drivers.
  31.  
  32.         For the following conditions, You may need to modify the IBM4039H.PDF
  33.         file.
  34.  
  35.         - Change the default printer adapter port from LPT1: (default).
  36.  
  37.         - Request Duplex output from WordStar 7.0.
  38.  
  39.         - Make the IBM 4039 LaserPrinter PCL5 driver your default printer
  40.           driver.
  41.  
  42.         To make any of the above changes, proceed with these INSTALLATION
  43.         INSTRUCTIONS.  Otherwise, your IBM 4039 LaserPrinter driver is
  44.         ready to use.
  45.  
  46.                *********** Modifying the IBM4039H.PDF ************
  47.  
  48.          Note: In the steps that follow use this procedure to select a
  49.                function or menu item.
  50.  
  51.                - Highlight the function by using the cursor keys
  52.  
  53.                - Press Enter to select the highlighted function
  54.  
  55.      1. Change your current path to the path that contains your WordStar 7.0
  56.         programs. Type WINSTALL at the DOS prompt and press Enter.
  57.  
  58.      2. From the WINSTALL Menu, select "Modify or install a printer
  59.         (PRCHANGE)".

  65.      3. Select "IBM4039H" (If the PDF is in another directory, type the full
  66.         path and press Enter, then select the PDF).  Reply Y when asked if
  67.         you want to modify the PDF.
  68.  
  69.      4. The PDF Modification Menu appears. If you want to request Duplex
  70.         output from WordStar then select "Modify sheet feeder".  The
  71.         following choices will appear:
  72.  
  73.         - 4039 Dual Bin Feeder Simplex
  74.         - 4039 Duplex Long-Edge Bind
  75.         - 4039 Duplex Short-Edge Bind
  76.  
  77.         Select Simplex if you do not want your documents printed on both
  78.         sides.
  79.  
  80.         Select Long-Edge to print on both sides of the paper, using the
  81.         Longest edge to turn the pages over.
  82.  
  83.         Select Short-Edge to print on both sides of the paper, using the
  84.         shortest edge to turn the pages over.
  85.  
  86.         Highlight your choice and press Enter.  You are returned to the
  87.         PDF Modification Menu.
  88.  
  89.      5. WordStar assumes your printer is connected to the LPT1 port at the
  90.         back of your computer. If your printer is connected to a different
  91.         port, you will need to modify the adapter port by selecting "Change
  92.         printer adapter port".  A list of adapter ports will be displayed.
  93.         Select the appropriate port.  You will be returned to the PDF
  94.         Modification Menu.
  95.  
  96.      6. Select "Return to Installed Printer Menu".
  97.  
  98.      7. At the Installed Printer Menu, press F10 to return to the
  99.         WINSTALL Menu.
  100.  
  101.      8. If you wish to make the IBM 4039 LaserPrinter PCL5 Driver your
  102.         default printer driver, then select "Set basic editing defaults".
  103.  
  104.         - At the Set Basic Editing Defaults Menu, select "Default printer".
  105.  
  106.         - At the Choose Default Printer (PDF) Menu, select "IBM4039H". This
  107.           will return you to the Set Basic Editing Defaults Menu.
  108.  
  109.         - Select "Return to WINSTALL Menu".
  110.  
  111.       9. From the WINSTALL Menu, select "Save and return to DOS" to
  112.          save your changes and return to the DOS prompt.  This completes
  113.          the PDF modification process.
